Best Practices

A reputable returns company can be a very valuable business partner. To properly return product, there are numerous “hoops” to jump through, many different rules to follow, and countless manufacturer policies to consider.

A good returns company can and should advise you on the best ways to conduct business concerning outdated products, as well as help you to better manage your inventory by providing tools that allow you to analyze your returns.

We have a vested interest in maximizing your credits. After all, your success leads to our success.

Here are a few ideas…

Do a thorough return at least twice a year Adjust your purchasing habits
  • When scanning shelves, it is imperative to take the time to look at the expiration date on each package. A complete, detailed scan of Rx shelves in a typical retail pharmacy should take 2-3 hours.
  • Many manufacturers don’t allow for the return of partial products. If you have two unopened bottles of the same product, and one is on the verge of expiring, consider not opening the one with a short date – return it instead.
  • Pay attention to how much of one item you purchase. With next-day and even same-day deliveries, you can maintain a much tighter inventory and reduce the risk of product expiring.
  • Be mindful of short-dated items being shipped to you. You want to move these to the front of your stock.
